System Requirements

  • ExpressionEngine 2.1.0+
  • PHP 5.2.0+
  • MySQL 5+
  • jQuery 1.4.2 or higher (in EE control panel)

 

Installation Instructions (1.1+)

Content Elements 1.1  is no longer a module, but an extension and a fieldtype. This simplifies the installation of the add-on.

  1. Upload the content_elements folder to system/expressionengine/third_party/
  2. Upload the themes/third_party/content_elements folder to themes/third_party/
  3. Install the fieldtype in Add-ons » Fieldtypes
  4. While installing, make sure to install Fieldtype and Extension

Now, your Content Elements should be ready and you can proceed to the Initial Setup.

Installation Instructions (1.0)

  1. Upload the content_elements folder to system/expressionengine/third_party/
  2. Upload the themes/third_party/content_elements folder to themes/third_party/
  3. Install the module in Add-ons » Modules
  4. While installing, make sure to install Fieldtype, Module and Extension

Once Content Elements is installed, you will need to choose a Member Group, which Members will be able to access Content Elements. You will need to allow this Member Group to access the Content Elements module. Follow these steps to do so:

  1. Go to Members » Member Groups
  2. From the list of Member Groups, choose the group that will work with Content Elements and click on the Edit group details
  3. In the Module Access Privileges, make sure to set Yes (can access) for Content Elements add-on
  4. Save settings

Now, your Content Elements should be ready and you can proceed to the Initial Setup.

Update Instructions (1.0 to 1.1+)

  1. Before updating Content Elements, backup your database.
  2. Uninstall the Content Elements 1.0 module. Warning! Do not uninstall the extension and fieldtype as all the data you have published using Content Elements would be deleted.
  3. Delete the folders with Content Elementssystem/expressionengine/third_party/content_elements
    themes/third_party/content_elements
  4. Upload new Content Elementsupload the content_elements folder to system/expressionengine/third_party/
    upload the themes/third_party/content_elements folder to themes/third_party/

You’re done.

Note: If you’re using Content Elements 1.1, do not try to downgrade to Content Elements 1.0.
